Description

The 2005 Opus One, a blend of 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot, 3% Cabernet Franc and 1% Malbec, has a ruby/purple color and a beautiful, sweet nose of créme de cassis and spring flowers. Complex and medium to full-bodied, with silky tannin and superb purity and balance, this is exactly what Opus One was meant to be when it was first proposed. Of course, it is a popular wine to criticize, but the quality has never been better, and certainly 2005 is a beauty. It is reaching full maturity at ten years, but I think there is still another 10-15+ years of upside potential in this wine. It is full-bodied, opulent. RP95

品飲筆記:酒體深紅寶石色,打開杯蓋便能聞到濃郁的黑果與莓果、紅玫瑰、松露與甘草香,尾韻有些微肉豆蔻與黑巧克力。入口柔滑,質地豐盈,中段果味細膩平衡,單寧細緻但支持性強,收結悠長而誘人。 酒莊故事:作品一號由兩位名門創始人攜手創立,從一開始就以追求極致品質為宗旨。如今在經驗豐富的釀酒團隊與穩健的所有權架構下,仍維持當年的理想與工藝精神。 葡萄園與年份:酒莊位於Oakville西側,分為四個園區,包含知名的To Kalon地塊。園中採用人工採收與以傳統為本、必要時引入現代技術的混合管理。2005年春季潮濕、夏季偏冷,使得成熟期拉長,果實發展出非常純淨與濃縮的風味。 釀造與陳放:有長達29天的果皮浸渍,並於新法國橡木桶中熟成18個月,橡木與果味融合良好,令口感既有厚實感也保有細緻度。 建議喝法:建議醒酒約一到二小時,讓香氣層次完全打開。此酒既可當下享用,也非常適合繼續陳放收藏。

Tasting Note: A voluptuous garnet in the glass, this vintage opens with concentrated aromas of blueberry, cassis, red roses, white truffle, licorice and nutmeg. The palate delivers a silky entry and a moderately soft mid‑palate with supple texture—black olive, raspberry and layers of dark chocolate and espresso emerge toward a long, luscious finish. Producer & History: Opus One was born from the collaboration of Baron Philippe de Rothschild and Robert Mondavi, built around a single-minded pursuit of uncompromising quality. Today the estate continues that mission under shared ownership and the guidance of winemaker Michael Silacci. Vineyard & Vintage: Estate vineyards sit on four parcels in western Oakville, including holdings within the renowned To Kalon site. Hand‑harvesting and selective traditional practices combine with modern techniques when appropriate. The 2005 season featured a very wet spring and a cool, slow ripening period, producing a long hang time and concentrated, pure flavors. Winemaking & Ageing: Fermentation included extended skin contact (29 days) and the wine was aged 18 months in new French oak. Careful oak integration and precise cellar work yield polished structure and a long aging trajectory. Serve & Cellaring: Approachable now with aeration, this wine will continue to reward cellaring through the next decades. Decant for 60–120 minutes to open the layers of aroma and flavor.
