Tasting note

This mature 2005 bottling offers a layered and evolved profile: black-fruit core lifted by cedar, cigar box and tobacco notes, with hints of leather and dark chocolate at the back. On the palate it’s full-bodied and structured — concentrated flavours balanced by refined acidity and firm, integrated tannins. Winemaking favours small-lot handling and careful barrel aging to allow the wine to develop complexity without overpowering oak. Fruit for this single-site release is selected from premium estate blocks in Napa, with low-yield farming, hand harvesting and gentle extraction during fermentation. Expect tertiary savoury notes from bottle age alongside lingering dark fruit on the finish. Serve slightly below room temperature after 45–60 minutes of decanting to show best aromatics and mid-palate openness.
