The 2018 Masi Costasera Amarone Classico DOCG is a masterful expression of the appassimento technique, showcasing the traditional grapes of the Valpolicella Classica area. This wine presents a very dark ruby red color and offers a complex bouquet of baked fruit, plums, and cherries, with hints of coffee and cocoa. On the palate, it is fruity with a well-balanced structure, featuring fine, tight-knit tannins and a very long finish. Perfect for pairing with roast duck breast, venison rack with sour cherries, grilled veal chop with port sauce, or a spicy beef stew.

Masi is renowned for its expertise in the appassimento technique, where traditional grapes for the Valpolicella Classica area are laid out on bamboo racks to concentrate their aromas during the winter months. The Boscaini family, who owns the winery, ensures that each bottle reflects their commitment to quality and tradition. The wine is aged for 24 months, with 80% in Slavonian oak barrels and 20% in small Allier and Slavonian oak barrels.
