Nose: Rich and inviting — candied orange peel and dark chocolate at the forefront, layered with dried orchard fruit, honeyed toffee and a warm undercurrent of baking spice and vanilla. Palate: Luxuriously rounded and velvety, this 15‑year single malt unfolds with caramel and roasted nuts, cocoa bitterness and a hint of orange zest. Oak-driven notes of cedar and gentle spice add structure without harshness. Finish: Long, warming and persistent — sweet spice and decadent chocolate linger, leaving a dry, elegant oak thread. Producer notes: From Dalmore in the Highlands, crafted under Master Distiller Richard Paterson and released as part of a small-batch Luminary expression. The whisky reflects Dalmore’s signature emphasis on rich, sherried character married with American oak sweetness. Maturation & distillation: Matured for fifteen years in a careful selection of casks — a marriage of seasoned American oak (ex-bourbon) and hand-selected Iberian-style sherry casks — then married and rested to achieve balance. Distilled in traditional copper pot stills and finished with expert blending to showcase a plush, layered profile. Vineyard/estate notes: Made at The Dalmore on the Cromarty Firth in the northern Highlands, the spirit benefits from pure local water and a cool maritime maturation climate. The distillery’s cask programme and decades of blending expertise shape the Luminary No.1’s rounded, opulent character.
