In 1911, Georges Bollinger’s British agent suggested the name Special Cuvée, believing the French term 'Brut sans année' was not subtle enough for such a refined Champagne. Over a century later, Bollinger's Special Cuvée remains a symbol of expertise and history. The majority of the blend consists of reserve wines aged in magnums for 5 to 15 years, with over 85% of the grapes sourced from Grand and Premier Cru villages. The wine is cellar-aged for more than twice the time required by the appellation, resulting in a Champagne of remarkable complexity and elegance.
