A poised vintage Champagne from Louis Dousset’s Grand Cru selection, the 2009 Brut Blanc de Blancs offers lifted citrus and orchard fruit aromatics threaded with toasted brioche and gentle honeyed notes from extended ageing. On the palate it displays intense, lively acidity and a fine, creamy mousse that carries precise lemon zest, green apple and a chalky, saline minerality to a long, sapid finish. The overall profile balances youthful energy with the savoury complexity of long lees ageing and a restrained dosage. Producer notes: From a small, family-focused grower-producer in Champagne, parcels are selected from Grand Cru sites known for deep chalky soils and cool maritime influence. Hand-harvested fruit, low yields and careful selection underpin the house style. Winemaking: Gentle pressing, primary fermentation in stainless and neutral vessels, extended bottle ageing on lees (many years) and a conservative disgorgement/dosage give this vintage its autolytic depth and polished texture. Minimal intervention in cellar preserves clarity and site expression. Vineyard: Grapes come from sun-balanced, Grand Cru slopes with chalk-rich subsoils that lend tensile minerality and saline lift. The cool climate ensures high natural acidity and slow, even ripening—ideal for a precise, age-worthy blanc de blancs.
