On the palate the wine is broad and silky, with a creamy mid-palate supported by lively acidity and a long, slightly smoky finish. Producer notes: From Chateau de la Maltroye's Premier Cru La Romanee vineyard, this cuvée reflects careful selection and low yields to concentrate fruit and terroir expression. Winemaking notes: Hand-harvested and gently pressed, fermented in French oak with a portion of new barrels for structure, then aged on fine lees with periodic bâtonnage to build texture while retaining freshness. Vineyard notes: La Romanee sits on classic Côte de Beaune limestone-clay soils; vines are managed for balance and purity, with attention to canopy and yield to favour ripeness and precise mineral character.
