Tasting note

This 2020 from Pomerol opens with a layered nose of ripe dark berries, black cherry and plum, edged by violet florals, graphite and warm spice. French oak lends notes of vanilla and toast while a mineral thread keeps the profile lively. On the palate the wine is plush and well balanced: concentrated fruit, refined and silky tannins, and a medium–full body that feels rounded rather than heavy. Savory, slightly earthy undertones and a lingering, salty finish make it both immediately appealing and built for cellar evolution. Producer Jean‑Pierre Moueix Vins manages the estate with a classic Pomerol approach—careful viticulture, low yields and selective harvesting—followed by gentle extraction and maturation in French oak (some new oak used) to preserve purity and structure. Drink now with a good decant, or cellar through the 2030s; pleasantly ageworthy.
