My favorite of the current releases and only made in top vintages (it was last made in 2009), the 2013 Languedoc Pic Saint Loup Madame checks in as almost 100% Syrah, from a single parcel of clay and limestone soils, that was aged 18 months in tank. I reviewed this wine last year, and it showed even better this go around, with gorgeous Syrah character in its dark fruits, violets and mineral bouquet. Fabulous purity, medium to full-body, ripe tannin and superb overall balance all suggest it will continue evolving for a decade.
