The 2003 Chateau Leoville Poyferre is a stunning wine from the Saint-Julien appellation in Bordeaux. This wine is a blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, and 5% Petit Verdot, showcasing a deep ruby color and a complex bouquet of blackberries, plums, black cherries, and cassis, with hints of spice and well-integrated oak. On the palate, it is lush, round, and supple, with ripe black and red fruits, opulent texture, and elegant structure. Chateau Leoville Poyferre is a prestigious winery located in the Saint-Julien appellation of Bordeaux. Managed by the Cuvelier family, the estate spans 80 hectares of diverse terroir, with an average vine age of 38 years. The winemaking process involves meticulous sorting, pre-fermentation cold maceration, and daily pump-overs during fermentation. The wine is aged for 18 months in French oak barrels, under the guidance of winemaker Isabelle Davin and cellar master Didier Thomann, with consulting from Michel Rolland.
