Tasting note: Deep ruby with youthful rim, this Margaux opens to a complex bouquet of truffle, blackberry, cedar, tobacco and cocoa, with delicate floral notes. On the palate it is full-bodied and concentrated — ripe dark fruit and plum framed by polished, silky tannins and a long, caressing finish. Producer notes: Château Malescot St-Exupéry, a respected 3ème Grand Cru Classé of the Médoc, is known for producing elegant yet powerful wines that combine Margaux refinement with serious structure and ageing potential. Winemaking notes: Fermented in concrete vats and matured for 12 months with a combination of 60% new/used barrels and 40% amphorae, the wine shows integrated oak influence and refined texture from careful élevage. Vineyard notes: Planted on Margaux’s classic gravelly, well-drained soils with maritime influence from the nearby estuary, the vineyards yield concentrated fruit and lifted aromatics.
