Tasting note: Plush and inviting, this Saint-Emilion reveals a vivid core of red and black fruit framed by a clear vanilla and toasted-oak spice. The fruit is pure and precise, moving from ripe cherry and plum into darker bramble notes, while a savory, earthy thread gives it classic right-bank character. The tannins are silky and polished, providing structure without harshness, and the finish is clean and lingering. Producer notes: From an estate producing roughly 70,000 bottles, this cuvée shows the house’s preference for polished, traditionally-built wines that balance fruit generosity with measured oak. The 2020 vintage delivers ripe concentration while retaining freshness. Winemaking: Aged in oak (noticeable new-oak spice and vanilla), the wine was handled to preserve clarity of fruit and texture. Maturation in barrel has imparted spice and a gentle creaminess to the mid-palate while maintaining a reserved frame for cellaring through the recommended drinking window of 2024–2035. Vineyard: Sourced from Saint-Emilion terroirs, the vineyards benefit from classic limestone and clay-influenced soils that bring both depth and lift. Vine selection and canopy work aim to produce concentrated, well-ripened fruit suited to careful oak aging.
