This 2004 Chateau Pontet-Canet is a classic Pauillac, offering a profound nearly opaque colour and an intense nose that expresses a refined complexity. The spicy notes of liquorish, coffee and vanilla mix well with the red and black fruits such as blackberry and toasted cherries. The attack is full with an evolution that is at the same time long and luscious. Amidst the long juicy tannins, the finale carries the unmistakable and unique character of a great Pauillac. The aromas in the mouth are extremely persistent.
