The 2017 Chateau Vray Croix de Gay from Pomerol, Bordeaux, is a beautifully balanced wine with a silky, soft, and smooth texture. On the nose and palate, it reveals delightful notes of chocolate-dusted black cherries, licorice, and floral hints, complemented by an earthy, juicy character. This wine is aged for 18 months in a combination of 30% new French oak barrels and 70% second-use barrels and amphoras, under the expert guidance of consultant winemaker Eric Boissenot. The vineyard, owned by Francois Pinault and the Artemis group, benefits from the unique terroir of Pomerol, producing wines of great finesse and complexity. Perfectly balanced with polished tannins, this wine is a classic representation of the region.
