Clos Fourtet, Premier Grand Cru Classé, embodies the finest of Saint-Émilion. The vineyard is situated upon the summit of Saint-Émilion, where limestone soils offer superb drainage. This predominance of limestone brings inimitable freshness to the wines, with minerality and delicate tannins. The wines are crafted with whole berry fermentation in small capacity thermo-regulated stainless steel vats, followed by malolactic fermentation in barrel. The ageing process involves 60-80% new oak barrels for 14-18 months in underground caves.
