Tasting Note: Deep ruby with a glint of violet, this Minervois opens with concentrated aromas of black cherry, blackberry and garrigue herbs framed by peppery spice, leather and a whisper of licorice. On the palate it feels dense and generous: ripe dark fruit drives the mid-palate while savory, earthy notes and fine-grained tannins provide structure and grip. A long, warming finish leaves mineral and spice echoes. Producer Notes: Domaine Anne Gros & Jean‑Paul Tollot is a collaboration that pairs two experienced voices in French winemaking. The project marries careful site selection in Minervois with a winemaking approach that seeks balance and freshness while respecting the region's sun-drenched character. Winemaking Notes: Fermentation is handled to preserve primary fruit and varietal spice, followed by careful maturation that may include a mix of inert vessels and oak to round the wine and add complexity. The result is a ripe, concentrated red with integrated acidity and polished tannins. Vineyard Notes: Fruit is sourced from Minervois parcels characterized by Mediterranean exposure and soils of limestone, schist and clay. Hot daytime temperatures with cooling nocturnal breezes and the influence of garrigue aromatics give the wine its herbal lift and Provençal signature.
