Description
The 2011 Richebourg Grand Cru has fine transparency on the nose, more “stony” than fruit-driven, well-defined with scents of terracotta and wet clay emerging with time. The palate is medium-bodied with a gentle grip on the entry. The tannins are quite fine once again, nicely balanced with an unprepossessing finish that leaves a dash of white pepper in the mouth. Fine, but perhaps not a long-term Richebourg. Drink 2014-2020.

Tasting note
The 2018 Domaine Anne Gros Richebourg Grand Cru is a testament to the sublime elegance and power of Burgundy's finest. This wine, with its deep purple hue, is a jewel in the glass, offering a complex bouquet of peony, roses, violets, licorice, vanilla, coriander, raspberry, black currant, and a touch of undergrowth and fresh herbs. With age, it evolves to reveal notes of leather, musk, caramel, and chocolate, culminating in an earthy and wild profile. The palate is graced with silky tannins and a profound minerality that contributes to its sensual and intricate character. A true peacock's tail of a wine, it is recommended to decant for two hours to fully appreciate its breadth. Pair this grand cru with roasted lamb, duck breast with a berry sauce, a creamy mushroom risotto, or savor alongside aged cheeses.
