Description
The 2013 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru has a clean and pure bouquet with dark cherry, cassis and violet petals. There is real energy displayed within these aromatics, nicely defined. The palate has grip, quite powerful and stocky. There is plenty of black fruit here and a touch of spice, a little disjointed on the finish, but that will coalesce with another 24 months in bottle. Good potential, although not quite in the same class as the Echézeaux '13.
