Tasting note
Tasting note: Bright and classically Burgundian, this Morey-Saint-Denis blanc opens with lemon zest, green apple and delicate white florals, layers of wet stone minerality and toasted hazelnut emerging on the mid-palate. A gentle, polished creaminess from lees contact and subtle oak spice round the texture, while lively acidity keeps the profile precise and refreshing. Producer notes: From the small family domaine of Georges Lignier & Fils, this cuvée reflects careful parcel selection in Morey-Saint-Denis and a restrained, terroir-driven approach. Winemaking notes: Hand-harvested fruit is softly pressed, fermented in French oak barrels with a proportion of new wood, and aged on fine lees to build texture; partial malolactic conversion smooths edges without masking freshness. Vineyard notes: Vines are planted on Côte de Nuits slopes with limestone-rich soils and good drainage; low yields and attentive canopy work favor ripe aromatics and mineral definition. Service: Serve slightly cool; allow 20–40 minutes to open for best aromatic display. Food: Excellent with richer white meats, creamy fish dishes, mushroom tarts and mature alpine cheeses.
