A poised, mature Vosne-Romanée from Domaine Jean-Charles Rion showing classic old-world complexity. Aromas of red cherry, dried strawberry and rose petal give way to undersoil notes of forest floor, mushroom and a hint of leather. On the palate it is silky and refined: bright, well-integrated acidity carries concentrated but faded fruit, gentle savory spice and soft, age-toned tannins. Oak influence is subtle, used to frame rather than dominate. This bottle demonstrates the village’s mineral backbone and a long, savory finish—best enjoyed after a short, careful decant to separate any sediment and to open the tertiary aromatics.
