The 2017 M. Chapoutier Saint-Joseph 'Les Granits' is a bold and structured red wine that showcases the exceptional terroir of the Rhone region. This wine presents a very deep garnet red appearance, with a nose that reveals enticing aromas of black fruit jam, smoked and mineral overtones. On the palate, it offers smoky and peppered flavors, supported by tight tannins and a long persistency. Crafted from 100% Syrah, the grapes are hand-harvested and undergo a slow fermentation process in small concrete vats, followed by aging in casks for 16 to 18 months. This wine pairs beautifully with grilled lamb, roasted duck, aged cheeses, and wild mushroom risotto.
