A Storied History

The story of the Gianni Gagliardo winery is a captivating tale of family, passion, and the pursuit of excellence in the heart of Italy's prestigious Barolo region. The journey began in Santo Stefano Belbo, a land renowned for its Moscato, and eventually led to the acquisition of a farm in La Morra in 1961 by Paolo Colla, who dreamt of producing world-class Barolo.

In 1972, a new chapter began when Paolo's daughter, Marivanna, married Gianni Gagliardo, a young and ambitious man from the Roero region. Under Paolo's mentorship, Gianni's passion for winemaking blossomed, and in 1986, the winery was officially renamed in his honor. The iconic logo, a falling mask, was chosen to symbolize the profound connections forged through wine, a testament to the old adage, "In Vino Veritas."

Today, the Gagliardo legacy is carried on by Gianni's three sons: Stefano, Alberto, and Paolo. The sixth generation of the family, they are the devoted guardians of the estate, deeply involved in every aspect of the winemaking process, from the vineyard to the bottle.
