Tasting note
Bright yellow-gold in the glass, this Vin de Constance opens with layered aromas of Seville orange marmalade, candied citrus peel, dried apricot and ripe stone-fruit, threaded with ginger spice, floral lift and a honeyed note. The palate is rich and luxurious yet finely balanced: concentrated and full-bodied, with a silky, creamy mouthfeel supported by vibrant acidity and a subtle saline lift. Crafted from 21 individual parcels harvested over a long, cool season (early February to mid-April), the 2018 was assembled after detailed blending and matured for three years in 50% new French oak, a touch of acacia and large-format foudres. Hand-picked grapes were sorted meticulously at the cellar—each lug box tracked to the picker—to ensure only the best fruit is used. The blend includes very ripe berries and raisined lots used for the wine’s most concentrated component, producing a luscious yet precise sweet wine with spice and pithy astringency on the finish. Long-lived and age-worthy, show it with fruit-based desserts, blue cheese or foie gras.
