Tasting note
Tasting note: Delord X.O. Bas Armagnac opens with a rich, countryside perfume—vanilla pod, honeyed toffee, and crème brûlée notes layered over dried fig, light floral and hay aromas. On the palate it is velvety and full-bodied, with creamy texture, warm oak spice and lingering rancio that folds into a long, honeyed finish. Producer notes: A family-owned estate from Bas-Armagnac, Delord crafts eaux-de-vie in the traditional regional style. This X.O. is a carefully blended, long-aged expression that showcases the house’s focus on elegance and depth. Winemaking notes: Distilled using traditional Armagnac techniques and aged in French oak casks for extended maturation, the spirit develops pronounced tertiary notes of dried fruit, tobacco and toasted oak while retaining a plush mouthfeel. Blending and slow barrel ageing produce the trademark silky texture and persistent finish. Vineyard notes: Sourced from parcels in Bas-Armagnac known for sandy, well-draining soils that encourage concentrated fruit and sturdy base spirits. The terroir contributes subtle floral and hay aromas that appear in the finished Armagnac.
