2022 Valli Bendigo Vineyard Pinot Noir

Central Otago

Soul Hook: A concentrated Central Otago Pinot with precision and muscle — dark fruit, mineral spine and long savory finish.

Why choose it?
1) Site-driven intensity -> Real vineyard expression from Bendigo gives layered complexity and age-worth structure.
2) Thoughtful oak use -> 11.5 months in French oak (25% new) adds texture without hiding pure fruit.
3) Limited production -> Under 24,000 bottles: a distinctive, collectible Central Otago example.

Sommelier's Private Note: On the nose: slate, graphite and blue-fruit florals. Palate shows black cherry and plum, warmed by cinnamon, clove and a hint of baconed oak. Firm acidity and fine, persistent tannins keep the wine taut — powerful yet agile. Best enjoyed after a 60-minute decant if drinking now; will cellar comfortably for years.

Occasion / Pairing Guide: Ideal for Hong Kong dinner nights — roast duck with plum sauce, spiced lamb, or a charred porterhouse shared with friends. Also performs well with umami-rich Cantonese eel dishes or an elevated cheese course.

Competitive Edge: Delivers near-top critic scores and ageability of premium New World Pinot at a fraction of flagship Burgundy prices — concentrated site character and disciplined winemaking make it an excellent value for collectors and restaurant lists.
