Tasting note: Deep garnet with a hint of brick at the rim. Aromas of black cherry and blackberry are layered with warm black pepper, cocoa, cedar and a touch of smoked meat. On the palate the wine is rich and concentrated — ripe dark fruit framed by integrated oak, polished but assertive tannins and a savory, mineral streak. The finish is long, with lingering spice and dark chocolate notes. Producer notes: From Two Hands Wines’ Langhorne Creek sources, this bottle reflects the winery’s focus on small-lot, vineyard-driven reds. Winemaker Ben Perkins crafts wines that balance ripe fruit intensity with structure and finesse. Winemaking notes: Matured in a mix of new and seasoned French and American oak, the wine shows careful extraction and controlled fermentation to preserve fruit purity while building depth. Typical élevage delivers toast, vanilla and savory oak complexity without overpowering the fruit. Vineyard notes: Sourced from Langhorne Creek sites where cooling influences from local waterways and nighttime breezes help retain acidity while producing concentrated berries. Vine management emphasizes balanced yields and selective picking to ensure ripe flavours and sturdy tannic structure. Cellaring / drinking window: Reached maturity but still rewarding now (Drinking window: 2020–2025). Recommended to decant about 60 minutes to open aromatics and soften edges.
