The 2019 Blank Canvas Anthem Pinot Noir is a masterful expression of Central Otago's unique terroir. Crafted by the talented duo Matt Thomson and Sophie Parker-Thomson, this wine is a testament to their dedication to precision winemaking. The vineyard's schist loess soils and 19-year-old vines contribute to the wine's complexity and finesse. Hand-picked and partially whole-cluster fermented, the wine underwent a 4-5 day cold soak and spontaneous fermentation, followed by 12 months of maturation in French oak barrels. The result is a wine of elegance and depth, with aromas of pressed roses, cherry flesh, and a touch of oak spice. On the palate, it reveals layers of strawberry, red apple, and spice, supported by fine chalky tannins and a vibrant acidity.
