2001 Chateau Montrose

品飲筆記:深紫色澤,香氣展現皮革、煙草、黑色果實與香料,並帶有可可的細緻氣息。入口飽滿而有架構,單寧絲滑卻有支撐力,黑果與微甜果乾香交替出現,伴隨礦物與泥土氣息,餘韻悠長。
生產與釀造:葡萄在9月下旬至10月初採收,經嚴格篩選後以傳統手法釀造,於法國小桶中熟成約18個月,展現出法桶香與細緻單寧,卻仍保留酒款的鮮明礦物性。
葡萄園與風土:整片95公頃的連續園區位於礫石台地上,表層為礫砂混合土,地下黏土保水,向河口自然排水,這樣的地形與統一管理造就了穩定且有深度的風味。飲用建議:醒酒1–2小時,與紅肉或熟成乳酪最為相配。


Tasting note: Deep purple colour with a complex nose of leather, tobacco, black fruit, spice and a hint of cocoa. On the palate it is dense and structured yet elegant: silky but decisive tannins frame ripe dark fruit, candied notes and subtle mineral and earthy undertones. The finish is long and refined.
Producer notes: Meticulous selection in both vineyard and cellar results in a classic Saint-Estèphe expression—structured, ageworthy and refined. This vintage displays excellent concentration and ageing potential.
Winemaking notes: Harvested between 24 September and 9 October, grapes were carefully sorted and vinified with traditional techniques. The wine matured for 18 months in French oak, giving layered spice and polished tannins while preserving mineral drive.
Vineyard notes: Montrose sits on a contiguous 95-hectare estate of gravelly terraces over clay, with natural drainage toward the estuary. The unified estate allows precise parcel management and consistent quality across the blend.

The site’s gravel over clay subsoils ensure natural drainage and deep-rooted vines; the winery focuses on careful sorting, traditional vinification and élevage in French oak to produce long-lived, powerful yet refined wines.
