Tasting note

Tasting note: Deep ruby with bright purple edges, the 2021 shows a concentrated bouquet of blackcurrant, blackberry and darker berry compote lifted by graphite, violet and subtle cigar-box spice. On the palate it is energetic and precise — vivid acidity frames dense fruit while firm, chalky tannins provide structure and an insistently long finish. Producer notes: From a classified Second Growth estate in Pauillac, this vintage was made under the stewardship of the estate’s current ownership and benefited from exceptionally low yields. The team emphasised selection and finesse to express the vineyard’s terroir. Winemaking: A gravity-flow philosophy guided harvest handling through to barrel. After traditional fermentation the free-run wine was separated from press fractions; press wines were carefully managed and blended to complement the wine’s silky components. The wine completed élevage in oak for 18 months, adding subtle spice and poise without masking freshness. Vineyard: Planted on the Médoc’s classic gravel over clay soils, the vines enjoy excellent drainage and a moderating maritime influence that preserves acidity and aromatics. Extremely low yields in 2021 concentrated flavors and tannic backbone, producing a wine built for longevity and refinement.
