Classified as a Deuxième Cru Classé and under the stewardship of Chanel, this 2022 from Rauzan‑Ségla is a concentrated, elegant Margaux built for both early enjoyment and long cellaring. Aromas open with ripe black fruits and cassis, layered with violet and graphite notes. On the palate it reveals dense, polished tannins framed by fine French oak, cedar spice and tobacco nuances, supported by a mineral thread from clay‑gravel terraces. Vinified parcel by parcel, gravity‑transferred to temperature‑controlled vats and matured for 18 months in French oak, with traditional egg‑white fining in barrel, the wine balances power and precision. Recommended to decant (about 90 minutes) if drinking in its youth; cellar to 2040s for further complexity. Perfect with richer red meats and mature cheeses.

Chateau Rauzan‑Ségla, a historic Second Growth in Margaux now owned by Chanel, combines meticulous vineyard work with modern cellar techniques. The 2022 vintage reflects individual parcel and intra‑parcel vinification, gravity transfer to temperature‑controlled stainless vats, and 18 months of French oak aging. Vineyards sit on clay‑gravel and sandy‑clay terraces and are in their second year of conversion to organic farming.
