This 2020 Les Perrières from Domaine Jean‑Michel Gaunoux delivers a classic Meursault Premier Cru profile: generous, polished and mineral-driven. The nose opens with white peach, citrus zest and honeyed orchard fruit, followed by toasted almond, hazelnut and gentle vanilla from careful barrel aging. On the palate it shows a plush, creamy texture balanced by bright acidity and a slate-like minerality that provides tension and lift. Subtle oak influence and a saline, persistent finish make this a wine with both immediate appeal and cellaring potential. Winemaking emphasizes gentle handling: hand-harvested fruit, careful whole-cluster pressing, barrel fermentation and extended élevage to integrate texture and complexity. From steep, limestone-rich parcels in the Perrières lieu-dit, the wine reflects a sun-exposed, stony terroir that yields concentrated, finely textured fruit.

Domaine Jean‑Michel Gaunoux is a small family domaine based in Meursault, focused on expressing individual terroirs of the Côte de Beaune. Les Perrières, planted on shallow, limestone-rich soils, is one of their parcels that consistently produces concentrated, finely textured wines.
