Tasting note

A mature vintage Champagne from Taittinger’s artist-designed Collection series. On the nose there is a refined interplay of toasted brioche, lemon peel, baked orchard fruits and a hint of honeyed almond — signatures of extended lees ageing. The palate shows a silky, creamy mousse balanced by bright, persistent acidity and a chalky mineral thread; flavours deepen into toasted hazelnut, dried citrus and subtle honeyed nuances. Made by the Traditional Method and released as a Brut dosage, this 1988 vintage offers developed complexity and a long, satisfying finish. The bottle is part of Taittinger’s long-standing collaboration with contemporary artists, where the label and presentation become part of the collectible story.

Winery

Champagne Taittinger is a historic house known for its elegant, refined style and long-standing commitment to quality. The estate blends fruit from its own holdings and selected growers across premier Champagne terroirs, and since the 1980s has produced limited 'Collection' cuvées paired with contemporary artists — turning bottle and label into part of the work. Traditional winemaking, extended lees ageing and careful dosage define the house style. Currently owned by Starwood Capital Group, the domaine maintains its focus on finesse and aromatic purity.
