2017 Croix de Beaucaillou Cuvee Colbert

[Soul Hook] Classic Saint-Julien elegance with taut structure — a wine for the table and the cellar.

[Why choose it?]
1) Estate pedigree -> From a historic Ducru-Beaucaillou terroir, delivers confident refinement without the inflated price tag of flagship labels.
2) Balanced maturation -> French-oak élevage and careful cellar handling give depth and polished edges ready for medium-term drinking.
3) Versatile pairings -> Structured yet elegant — pairs seamlessly with rich meats and savory festive dishes.

[Sommelier's Private Note] Dark-black fruits meet graphite and tobacco, framed by cedar and a saline mineral thread. The texture is polished rather than aggressive: fine-grained tannins support a concentrated core, while acidity keeps the palate lifted. Serve after a one-to-one-and-a-half hour decant to reveal tertiary spice and cedar notes.

[Occasion] Anniversary dinner, celebratory roast at a private dining room, or an intimate Cantonese banquet where roast meats take centre stage.

[Competitive Edge] Offers the stylistic signature of a First Growth neighbour — precision, finesse and aging potential — but with a more accessible market price and immediate table appeal.
