Tasting note: Deep ruby with a glossy rim. The bouquet opens with concentrated blackcurrant and black cherry, layered with violet perfume, cedar, tobacco and a hint of pencil-lead minerality. On the palate it shows ripe dark fruit framed by fine-grained, polished tannins, lively acidity and a mineral undercurrent that carries through to a long, saline finish. Producer notes: From Château Ducru‑Beaucaillou’s carefully selected cuvée, this bottling reflects the estate’s classic Saint‑Julien balance of power and elegance under the ownership of Bruno Borie. Winemaking notes: Fermentation is carefully managed with gentle extraction to preserve aromatic lift; élevage in French oak barrels provides structure and subtle spice without overwhelming the fruit. Vineyard notes: Sourced from gravely, well‑drained plots typical of Saint‑Julien with moderate exposure and maritime influence, vines are tended for low yields and rigorous sorting at harvest to concentrate ripeness and purity.
