A grand cru from a revered Côte de Nuits site, this 2019 shows a deep, bright garnet colour and a layered nose of fresh cherries and violets that evolves to darker notes of mulberries, prunes, leather, pepper and forest undergrowth. The palate is structured and harmonious: rounded yet firmly built, with ripe fruit framed by spice and well-integrated new oak. Winemaking at the domaine is meticulous — hand-sorted fruit, élevage in 100% new oak barrels — which gives the wine density and polished tannins while preserving terroir expression. Vineyard parcels sit on rich clay over Bajocian limestone with vines averaging 40–68 years, contributing minerality and depth. Drink now with an hour or two of decanting for the perfume to open, or cellar through the recommended window for greater complexity.
