Tasting Note: A deeply scented, finely detailed wine with a striking bouquet of iris and violets layered over crushed stone, juicy blackberries and darker red/black fruits, with whispers of star anise and licorice. The palate is taut and energetic — vivid fruit framed by chalky, very fine-grained tannins, saline minerality and a long, persistent finish. Producer Notes: Run by the Vauthier family (11th generation), this unique seven-hectare hillside estate seeks the purest expression of its limestone-rich terroir. Meticulous vineyard work and respect for the local ecosystem guide every decision from vine to cellar. Winemaking Notes: Hand-harvested, rigorously sorted and vinified plot-by-plot in small wooden vats. Gentle extraction is achieved with gravity-fed rack-and-return, followed by roughly 20 months of ageing in French oak, producing a wine of power, finesse and longevity. Vineyard Notes: East–south-east facing sites on the heights of Saint-Émilion, planted on an Asteria limestone plateau and calcareous clay slopes. High planting densities and an average vine age of around 54 years contribute concentrated, mineral-driven fruit.
