Tasting note: A refined, luxurious spirit with an expressive nose of candied orange peel, dried apricot, honeyed toffee and warm baking spices. The palate is silky and layered — toasted oak, vanilla, roasted nuts and subtle cedar unfold into rich caramel and mocha notes. Elegantly integrated oak gives weight without heaviness and the finish is very long, warming and nuanced. Producer notes: From the venerable Martell house, this XO expression is crafted for depth and elegance. The selection blends long-aged eaux-de-vie from historic Cognac crus, emphasizing aromatic finesse and a polished texture suited to both celebration and contemplative sipping. Winemaking & ageing: Double-distilled eaux-de-vie are matured extensively in fine Limousin oak casks, allowing time for complex extraction of spice, vanilla and toasted nuances. Seasoned coopering and careful marrying in wood and glass produce a cohesive profile with a satin mouthfeel. Vineyard notes: Sourced from long-established parcels across Cognac’s recognized terroirs, including the aromatic Borderies and surrounding crus.
