Tasting note: An elegant, aged Speyside single malt with an expressive nose of baked orange, raisin and ripe peach, layered with beeswax and nougat. The palate unfolds caramelized sugar, vanilla and dark toffee, then spices of pepper and clove, followed by forest honey, sugared almonds, raisin bread and marzipan, finishing with hints of creamy milk chocolate. Producer notes: Released after 25 years of maturation, this bottling reflects The Glenrothes’ careful cask program and stylistic restraint—sherry influence is present but refined rather than dominant. Winemaking/distillation notes: Produced at The Glenrothes distillery in Speyside under the care of Master Distiller Laura Rampling, distilled as a single malt and matured long-term in a selection of oak casks to build depth and polish. Vineyard/field notes: Barley sourced from traditional Scottish barley-growing areas and matured in the cool, temperate Speyside climate contribute to ripe orchard-fruit aromatics and a rounded mouthfeel. Serve neat or with a few minutes’ rest in a tulip or Glencairn glass to let the layers open.
