Tasting note

白州18年來自日本南阿爾卑斯深處的山林與清冽水源，酒體呈現深金色，整體氣息清新帶草本感。聞香有成熟梨子、乾薄荷與些許香草麵包氣息，入口則是絲滑的茉莉花瓣感與熱帶果香，薄荷和微煙草味在口中交織，尾韻悠長帶點苦感，讓人回味。釀造上以高海拔季節變化、山泉水與多樣橡木桶熟成營造層次；在蒸餾與配方上保留了從輕泥煤到中重煙燻的幅度，口感細緻但力量十足。建議淺飲慢嘗或加一滴礦泉水打開香氣，搭配鹹香或煙燻料理最合拍。

From the untouched forests and clear mountain streams of the Southern Japanese Alps comes Hakushu 18. This single malt is celebrated for a green, fresh character shaped by high-altitude seasons and crisp spring water. Deep gold in the glass, the nose opens to ripe pear, dried mint, oregano and a subtle pastry-like sweetness that hints at vanilla and caramel. Palate is silky and layered—jasmine florals and tropical notes of mango and quince meld with menthol freshness and a measured peat smoke. Oak maturation and selective casking add toasted, balsamic spice and a rounded honeyed core; the finish is long, pleasantly smoked with a touch of bitterness. Best enjoyed neat or with a drop of water, allowing it to breathe for 10 minutes to reveal its complexities.

白州蒸餾所（Suntory）位於海拔較高的甲斐駒岳山區，周圍為原始山林與豐沛湧泉。酒廠追求「綠色清新」風格，使用從無泥煤到較重泥煤的多種麥芽，並以不同形狀的壺式蒸餾器調整風格。18年款以橡木桶（含部分雪利風味影響）長期熟成，生產管理由Beam Suntory體系負責；瓶口為T型木塞，強調細緻與山林感的持續表現。

Hakushu Distillery (Suntory) sits in mountain forest at Mt. Kaikomagatake and was created to craft a fresh, green-style single malt. Utilizing pristine spring water, multiple malt profiles (from unpeated to heavily peated), and differently shaped stills, Hakushu produces a range of expressions. The 18-year is matured in oak casks with selective sherry influence noted by some critics, and is overseen as part of Beam Suntory's portfolio. Closure: T-top cork.
