Tasting note
這支山崎百年紀念的18年限量單一麥芽,以珍貴的水楢(Mizunara)橡木桶純熟成,酒色呈現深紅琥珀。第一口香氣是濃郁而優雅的黑櫻桃與熟蜜桃,伴隨肉桂與肉豆蔻的暖香;入口則轉為微甜的橙皮巧克力(orangette)和帶有日本線香般的沉香氣息,還有一絲烘烤椰子的細緻尾韻。酒體飽滿、質地絲滑,橡木帶出的丁香與檀香增加結構但不搶果香,整體收尾綿長悠遠。生產上由三得利山崎蒸餾所精選熟成桶與麥芽,使用山區純淨泉水與小批次蒸餾,並以水楢桶賦予東方特有的香氣。建議小口慢飲,先在杯中靜置約10–20分鐘讓層次打開;配搭黑巧克力、熟成起司、燻製料理或堅果都很對味。
A centenary limited edition from Yamazaki, this 18‑year single malt was matured exclusively in mizunara (Japanese oak) casks. Colour is a deep reddish‑amber. On the nose it opens with rich, elegant layers of dark cherry and ripe peach, edged with warm cinnamon and nutmeg. The palate delivers a subtly spiced orangette character with undernotes of Japanese incense and a delicate coconut nuttiness; the oak brings clove and sandalwood spice without overpowering the fruit. The texture is full and silky, and the finish is long and lingering. Producer notes highlight meticulous selection of malt whiskies and maturation in mizunara to mark Suntory Whisky's 100th anniversary. Distilling at Yamazaki emphasizes pure spring water, careful small‑batch spirit cuts and extended cask age to build complexity. Best enjoyed neat or with a few drops of water; allow 10–20 minutes in the glass to open up. Ideal with dark chocolate, smoked dishes and mature cheeses.
