Tasting Note: Delicate floral top notes of chamomile, marigold and gardenia lead into orchard fruits — ripe peaches and crisp green apples — layered over biscuity cereal and vanilla. The palate is elegant and creamy, with malted-milk sweetness, fresh herbs and a gentle spice that evolves into warm chocolate and lingering grainy cream on the finish. Producer Notes: Created by Ichiro Akuto, grandson of the Hanyu founder, and produced through the Chichibu programme (distillery established 2007). This World Blend brings together carefully selected malt and grain components from Japan and elsewhere to produce a balanced, approachable whisky that rewards a splash of water. Winemaking/Distilling Notes: Blended from malt and grain whiskies, the bottling is crafted for harmony — bright maturation profiles, cereal-driven creaminess and light spicy warmth. Casks are chosen to preserve floral aromatics and to support a creamy, rounded mid-palate. The spirit shows excellent integration and responds well to gentle dilution. Vineyard/Field Notes: While not a wine, the character reflects cool-climate barley fields and seasonal variation around the Chichibu area — temperature swings that help develop floral esters and crisp fruit notes in the distillates. Serve: pour into a tulip glass or Glencairn, rest about 10–20 minutes and taste neat first; add a few drops of water to open aromatic layers.
