Tasting note
Tasting Note: Bright, layered aromas of ripe pear, green apple and lemon zest give way to richer notes of stone fruit, toasted almond, vanilla and a touch of honey. The palate is broad and creamy, with lively acidity balancing plush texture and well-integrated oak; a clear mineral thread runs through to a long, polished finish. Producer Notes: From Domaines Famille Picard, this Premier Cru from Les Chaumées reflects careful, site-focused work. The family estate emphasises low yields and expressive fruit to show the vineyard’s terroir. Winemaking Notes: Grapes are picked by hand and handled gently at the press. Fermentation and ageing take place in French oak barrels with regular lees contact to build mid-palate weight and texture, while oak is used judiciously to add toast and spice without overwhelming freshness. Vineyard Notes: Les Chaumées sits on well-draining, limestone-rich soils of Chassagne-Montrachet with favorable aspects that promote ripe, concentrated fruit. Vines are managed to limit yields, producing concentrated berries with a mineral backbone. Drinking window: 2023–2030.
