2017 Te Whare Ra Single Vineyard 5182 Pinot Noir

Tasting Note: Bright, linear and finely tuned — this single‑vineyard 2017 offers sliced green strawberry and red-fruit perfume layered with tea leaf, cedar and a touch of smoke. Dried citrus and warm spice frame the midpalate while a hint of new leather appears on the finish. Medium-bodied with refined structure and an elegant, persistent finish.

Producer Notes: From Te Whare Ra's SV5182 single vineyard in Marlborough, this bottling is made from organically grown fruit and reflects a focused, small-batch approach. Bottled under screw cap to preserve freshness, it sits within a drinking window that rewards short-term cellaring.

Winemaking Notes: Gentle handling and careful extraction retain the wine's perfumed character and finesse. Fermentation and maturation are managed to balance fruit clarity with subtle oak influence, adding cedar and spice without overwhelming the primary aromas. The result is a poised wine with length and complexity.

Vineyard Notes: SV5182 sits in Marlborough’s cool-climate zone, producing concentrated, aromatic fruit from well-drained sites. Low-yielding, carefully tended vines deliver clean, expressive flavours and a defined acidity that gives the wine its linear drive.
