Tasting note: Bright amber with a fragrant nose of caramel, orange zest and warm nutmeg spice, underpinned by vanilla and toasted oak. On the palate it’s round and full, revealing layers of sherry-aged dried fruit, toffee and baking spice, finishing long and warming.
Producer notes: The Macallan Classic Cut 2021 is the first in an annual limited series designed to showcase a distinct character. Matured exclusively in hand-picked sherry-seasoned American and European oak casks from Jerez, Spain, this bottling highlights sweet-spicy elements with a satisfyingly long finish.
Distilling & maturation: Crafted at The Macallan in the Highlands, the spirit is distilled to highlight purity and then married with sherry-seasoned oak influence. The careful cask selection—American oak for vanilla and soft sweetness, European oak for spice and dried-fruit complexity—creates a layered profile.
Terroir & raw materials: Produced where Highland air and pure waters meet traditional distillation, The Macallan sources quality malted barley and relies on expert cask craftsmanship. The result is a whisky that balances richness and elegance, ideal for slow, contemplative sipping.
