Tasting Note: Bright top notes of orange zest lead into a core of caramel, raisins and toasted oak; nutmeg and clove provide a warm, spicy lift. On the palate it is full-bodied and richly textured — concentrated dried fruit and vanilla framed by sherry-seasoned oak, with a warming alcohol edge that carries into a long, satisfying finish.
Producer Notes: The Macallan Classic Cut is the first in a new annual series designed to showcase a distinct character. Matured exclusively in hand-picked, sherry-seasoned American and European oak casks from Jerez, Spain, this limited release highlights caramel, orange zest and nutmeg spice with a satisfyingly long finish.
Winemaking/Distillation Notes: Crafted at The Macallan distillery using traditional single malt methods and distilled in copper pot stills, this release is bottled at a higher cask strength to unlock intensified aromas and flavours. Maturation in Jerez-seasoned casks imparts concentrated dried-fruit sweetness, toasted oak and layered spice.
Vineyard/Raw Material Notes: While not a wine, the spirit reflects meticulous sourcing — floor-malted barley, pure Highland water and careful cask selection play key roles. The result is an indulgent single malt with pronounced sherry-cask personality and a spicy-sweet, long finish.
