品飲筆記:酒體深沉,黑莓與李子果醬風味為主,藍莓與花香(像是紫丁香)帶出層次,還有烘焙香料與香草的細緻尾韻,尾段有一點酒精暖感但收得長且持久。
酒莊與產地:Torbreck 以巴羅薩老藤聞名,此酒混合來自巴羅薩與伊頓谷的老園(有的林齡達四十年、八十年),結合高原的爽脆與谷地的濃郁,是產區風格的經典呈現。
釀造工藝:分批採收分區發酵,去梗入木桶與水泥開放式發酵槽,發酵期間每日輕柔頂漿兩次約6–7天;籃壓後以重力導入地下水泥槽自然沉澱,之後進入法國橡木桶熟成(20個月,約20%新桶,其餘為舊桶)。
口感建議:質地圓潤帶奶油感,但丹寧明確有支撐感;建議醒瓶一小時以上,搭配紅肉或燒烤類更能凸顯果香與香料。
Tasting note: Deep, concentrated black-fruit character — ripe plum, blackberry jam and blueberry compote — lifted by floral lilac and apricot notes and a background of baking spice, vanilla and a faint iodine note. The palate is plush and velvety, very full-bodied with ripe, rounded tannins that are tucked behind abundant fruit; a touch of alcohol warmth appears on the very long finish.
Producer notes: A skilful marriage of fruit from older Eden Valley and Barossa vineyards (notably 40- and 80-year-old parcels), The Struie brings together Eden Valley lift with Barossa intensity. The cuvée honours the rugged Struie highlands and Torbreck’s tradition of region-driven wines.
Winemaking notes: Parcels were individually destemmed into wooden and concrete open-top fermenters, with gentle pump-overs twice daily for 6–7 days. After basket pressing the wine was gravity-fed to underground cement vats to settle, then racked into French barriques. Aged for 20 months in French oak (20% new, remainder seasoned/older barrels).
Vineyard notes: Sourced from both Barossa Valley (approx. 80%) and Eden Valley (approx. 20%) with an average vine age around 50 years; select blocks are up to 80 years old, contributing concentration and depth.
Cellar guidance: Drink now with careful decanting, or cellar through the next decade-plus. Decant 60–90 minutes to open the aromatics fully.
