2023 Domaine Claude Dugat Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru

Soul Hook: A focused Premier Cru from Gevrey-Chambertin that balances youthful energy with terroir depth.

Why choose it?
- Premier Cru terroir -> Real sense of Cote de Nuits minerality and structure, without the super-high price tag.
- Estate-driven attention -> Small-lot, precise work in vineyard and cellar for clarity and finesse.
- Food-friendly profile -> Medium body and firm acidity make it endlessly pairable at the table.

Sommelier's Note: Bright red fruit at the core — cherry and raspberry — framed by forest-floor earth, dried herbs and a smoky thread of spice. The 2023 shows a poised mid-palate, fresh acidity and fine, gently gripping tannins that promise both immediate enjoyment and short-term cellaring. Serve slightly cool for red (15–17°C) and allow about 45 minutes in the carafe to open.

Occasions: Perfect for an intimate roast duck dinner, a weekend game-bird feast, or paired with a cheese board and close conversation in a Hong Kong evening.

Competitive Edge: Offers the terroir specificity and precision of top-tier Gevrey at a more accessible price point — true grower character rather than big-house uniformity.
