A graceful, light-bodied red from the Hautes Cotes de Beaune, this 2021 Vieilles Vignes shows lifted red-fruit aromas—red cherry, raspberry and a hint of wild strawberry—framed by violet florals and a touch of forest-floor complexity. On the palate it is fresh and lithe: bright acidity drives the fruit, while fine, silky tannins and a subtle oak spice provide structure and warmth without overpowering the wine. The result is an elegant, perfumed expression with a medium-length finish and a palate that rewards a short decant. Producer notes: Domaine Sebastien Magnien is a small family domaine producing modest volumes (c.15,000 bottles) focused on site expression. Fruit comes from older vines in cooler, higher-altitude parcels of the Hautes Cotes, where slower ripening yields aromatic precision and lively acidity. Winemaking notes: Fermented with careful temperature control and gentle extraction to preserve perfume and finesse. The wine was matured in oak barrels (oaked maturation) to add subtle spice and texture while keeping freshness at the fore.
