Tasting Note: Elegant and restrained, The Irishman Small Batch opens with shortbread and vanilla, then moves into caramel, orange peel and spun sugar. Mid-palate offers almond paste, honeyed butterscotch and a gentle dark-fruit/sherry thread; a slow-building spice and peppercorn lift carries through to a warm, nutty finish. Producer Notes: A Walsh family release, produced in small limited batches (roughly 6,000 bottles per edition) and currently under Amber Beverage Group ownership. Unpeated and triple-distilled in the Irish tradition. Winemaking / Distilling Notes: Triple distillation and maturation in a mix of oloroso sherry and ex-bourbon casks gives the whisky its layered profile — sweet oak, dried-fruit depth and a delicate spice core. Small-batch blending aims for balance and approachability rather than overt power. Vineyard / Grain Sourcing Notes: Made from 100% malted barley sourced from selected Irish growers; the cool maritime climate of Ireland contributes to grain character that is clean, gentle and well-suited to extended cask ageing. Serving Suggestion: Best enjoyed neat or with a few minutes' rest in the glass to open; also pairs beautifully with rich desserts and aged cheeses.
