Just very slightly and attractively reductive, as top-notch Syrah tends to be. This is stunning: the best Blank Canvas Syrah I have tasted and likely to age well into serious complexity. It is deep but not at all sweet-fruited, dark-fruited, savoury, tarry, complex and has immense length. 96 Points - Outstanding "This is a single vineyard expression of Syrah, 60% whole cluster and co-fermented with a small portion of Gruner Veltliner skins. Matured for 14 months in new and seasoned French oak.

The resulting wine showcases aromas of spices and black fruits, crushed black currant berries and raspberry, violets, clove and toasty barrel scents. A complex and intriguing bouquet, quite powerful and very youthful. On the palate - delicious! Flavours of black fruits and currants, wild berries and spices from barrel and fruit, licorice and clove, some meat moments, pepper and iron-like stony soil qualities. Complex, lengthy and still rather youthful. Decant for service if you must, but best left till late 2022 then enjoy through 2030+." Cameron Douglas MS

Co-fermented with 7% grüner veltliner skins for colour stability, complexity of tannin and a spicy, aromatic lift. The wine certainly has a great depth of colour with rich, ripe flavours including Black Doris plum, liquorice, cocoa powder, mocha and a suggestion of violet. Tasting note

來自吉布利特礫石土壤的小批次作品,香氣以黑胡椒、紫羅蘭和紅黑莓為主軸,還帶有煙燻與香料感。入口質地細緻,酸度清脆,有層次的單寧支撐著延續性的辣香與礦感,整體口感既有果實鮮明度也顯得優雅有內涵。 這款酒來自尊重土地的小型葡萄園,葡萄全部以人工管理、VSP 立柱栽培與藤蔓修剪,田間不使用除草劑或系統性藥劑。釀造方面用了約六成的整串發酵工法,並把少量白皮葡萄皮一同共發酵以增加白胡椒類的香氣與口感層次。經法國橡木新舊桶14個月熟成,裝瓶前未過濾,瓶蓋為旋蓋。 如果現在喝,建議先醒一小時讓香氣打開;若放幾年,口感會更沉穩,香辛與陳年風味會逐步展現。整體風格清爽有勁,適合搭配烤肉或帶有香菇、野味的料理。

This single-vineyard bottling from the gravelly soils of Gimblett Gravels shows a fragrant, cool-climate profile: freshly cracked black pepper, crushed violets and layered red-and-black fruit, backed by savoury, smoky oak. The palate is textured and precise, with crunchy acidity carrying fine-grain tannins and a lingering spicy finish. Vineyard and production are hands-on and small scale: the site is cane-pruned and VSP-trained, farmed without herbicides or systemic controls, and nurtured for clean, expressive fruit. Fermentation included a substantial whole-cluster component and a co-ferment with a small portion of white-variety skins to enhance aromatic spice and texture. The wine matured 14 months in new and seasoned French oak and was bottled without filtration under screwcap. This bottle balances perfume and structure — fragrant and elegant but built for ageing. For immediate service, allow about an hour of decanting to open the aromatics; it will also reward several years of cellaring, developing savory, tobacco and leather nuances over time.

Ownership and direction reflect a boutique ethos with a hands-on approach: meticulous vineyard work, low-intervention winemaking and careful oak integration. The Element site is managed with environmental respect and a focus on expressing the gravelly terroir.
